Light of Atenveldt #2

Level:  Kingdom

Awarded On:  07 December 2019

Paint:  Winsor & Newton Gouache

Pen & Ink:  Lettering completed with Winsor & Newton Ink Outline done with a Micron archival ink pen

Illumination:  Imitation gold leaf and Instacol

Paper:  Pergamenata, 230 gsm

Inspiration:  Page from Kelmscott Chaucer.  Original was unadorned so I was able to trace it in its entirety and employ my own color scheme.  The illuminated letter was by my own hand.

This was a fun scroll to do…albeit a bit back and neck breaking since it required some fine detail in the painting…and I can’t see very well so I need to use a big magnifying glass.  I have used one or two other tracings from this book when I feel really inspired since it takes several hours to trace all of the lines.  The writing guide lines were removed before the award was handed out.
