Hi!  My name is Eric Noodén, aka Seved Ribbing in the SCA.  I am setting up this blog so I can keep tract of my calligraphy, illuminations, and artwork I have produced and will produce while I play in the SCA.  I have been interested in almost all things Medieval since I was a child and it is only now that I can pursue some of these interests (the Internet being responsible for opening so many difficult to pursue interests).  In these pages you will see my calligraphy, illuminations, blacksmith, wood working, bone carving projects plus whatever else tickles my fancy.

For each piece of work I produce I plan to include what I used to create it (paint, paper, nibs, inspiration, etc.)  along with helpful references and insights I have found along the way.  As I progress I will also include my own recipes and procedures for creating certain items such as paint, gesso, glair, etc..  I have found a lack of information and or wrong information out on the Internet that has caused me to waste my time and money.

My main path in the SCA is that of Knighthood and, although much of this may appear to be that of Laurel path, I feel in order to have a well-round medieval experience, you should pursue things that you enjoy and will learn from.  After all, it is your life, your path, so enjoy what time you have.
